Captains, Leo Turley and Seamus O Hanlon receive the Cup from Sean Reid

Cluskey Park, Dromiskin was the venue for the Damien Reid All Star Challenge and a packed evening of GAA activity. The evening commenced at 5.00 with Under 10 and Under 12 Exibition games featuring representatives from each of the clubs in the county. At 7.00 the big game kicked off with the Louth Heros of the 90's facing an All Star selection from the Rest of Ireland. The game itself was played in great spirit and both sides proved that despite the years, none of the players had lost their touch (class is permanent!). Believe it or not, the game finished all square following a late surge from the Wee County. The full time score was 4-7 to 3-10 with Louths goals coming from Nicholas Browne, Colin Kelly, Aaron Hoey and Stefan White while John "Shorty" Traynor, John McDermott and Johnny McDonnell found the net for the visitors. At half time there was an U8 game between St. Josephs and Mattock Rangers. Following the big match, youngsters had an opportunity to meet with the stars and there followed an evenings entertainment in the Joes clubhouse with Roy Taylor providing the music. In between there was an auction with some keenly contested items on show. In addition to this there was a draw for two All Ireland Tickets which was linked to the programme.
Many thanks to all those who supported the event, in particular the players, officials and sponsors. Many thanks also to St. Josephs GFC and to all those who contributed to a successful evening.
